DUI First Offense in Arizona

A DUI is a class one misdemeanor. Even if this is your first criminal offense, you could face a minimum of a $250 fine, a $500 prison construction fee, mandatory alcohol screening and counseling, suspension of your license from 90 days to a year, and 1 to 10 days in jail. However, if you fail to negotiate or work effectively with the prosecution and court, you could face a maximum sentence of a $2,500 fine, a $500 prison construction fee, suspension of your license for 90 days to a year, mandatory alcohol screening and counseling, and 6 months in jail.

Phoenix Extreme DUI Lawyers

A conviction for extreme DUI carries a minimum sentence of a $250 fine, $250 DUI abatement charge, $1,000 prison construction fee, suspension of your license from 90 days to one year, mandatory alcohol screening and counseling, and 10 to 30 days in jail. If given the maximum sentence, you face a $2,500 fine, $250 DUI abatement fee, $1,000 prison construction fee, suspension of your license for 90 days to a year, mandatory alcohol counseling and screening, and a jail sentence of 6 months.

Additionally, persons convicted of extreme DUI are required to install an ignition interlock device which detects alcohol on your breath. In order to start your car, you must blow into the device. If it detects alcohol, not only will you car not start but your horn will sound and your lights will flash.

Arizona Aggravated / Felony DUI Attorneys

An aggravated or felony DUI conviction carries with it a minimum 4 month prison sentence. Under Arizona state law, all of your incarceration term must be served in prison, making you ineligible for work furlough programs. You will also be charged a $750 fine, as well as a prison construction fee of $1,500. Additionally, your license will be revoked for 3 years. Afterwards, you will have to drive with an ignition interlock device for one year after your license is reinstated.
